It’s that time of the year again…ringing in the new year with fervour, fun, frolic, sipping chilled beer, munching on finger FOOD…but INDOORS, AT HOME, ALONE or just with FAMILY trying to turn on the celebration MOOD
Why??? Because there is the same fear lurking around the corner yet again…What fear you ask???
O-Mike-Kaun???
What are the first few thoughts that might be running into everyone’s minds at this point in time? Let me guess the top few:
- WFH will be extended indefinitely and I will have to work, babysit and cook this year too.
- Will my maid be allowed to enter our society or will I have to wash mop sweep and keep dusting away? Maybe this time around I will have to invest in a good vacuum cleaner and a dish washer or still better an I-Robot who can do all the chores.
- New Rhymes, numbers, stories and PTM videos from the school need to be downloaded and revised by all of us at home again but the kid.
- Hope Swiggy and Zomato deliveries will be allowed at the door and not at the security gate like last time as it will save time for other chores and mainly our energies.
- Do I have to get a new Oxymeter, Pulsemeter, or was it PulseOxyMeter (I keep forgetting!) Thermometer and maybe Anxiety meter too? Is there a self testing and self vaccinating kit in the market already?
- Stock up on Ginger, Lemon, Honey, Pepper and some Common sense.
- Praying that the YouTube Chefs, Hebbar’s Kitchen aunty and other expert cooks keep uploading different versions of Dalgona Coffee and other lip smacking recipes so that we can replicate them. We will need much better and creative ones than last year, after all my status stories on WhatsApp and Insta should look novel, vibrant and intriguing.
- And finally if I am going to be a hands-on cook this year too, I need to pile up new kitchenware, especially some pots, fancy cutlery so that I can aesthetically plate my creations and take awesome pictures(tasting and eating is not important at all), and of course some PANs…I guess I would need some 20–22 of them this time…so I go…Pan-de-Mike- Bees Bayees… Reloaded!!!
And yes you guessed it right, that guy in white is…MIKE!!!
