The biggest story of the week has been how MI won so that RCB could enter the play offs. RCB’s thought process was, if MI “wins” then “we- in”. Well, I cannot think of a better example of “win-win”…
Will the sense of achievement be the same, psychologically speaking, when one witnesses or experiences success in life, by not doing much on our own, rather by how the circumstances and conditions around favour us?
Well, I would say, YES, WHY NOT? Atleast, it should be on a similar scale.
If you are fortune’s favourite child, so be it. Cherish it, relish it. Nevertheless, the efforts we put in, in trying to achieve goals on our own should never cease. If lady Luck smiles on you, adding on to your efforts, then it is indeed a cherry with whipped cream on the cake. So, smile back at her, say “ Cheese”!!!
There are cases where luck plays a major role and other cases where efforts. In some rare instances, both go hand in hand. So, one should not ponder or delve too much on it, instead, just go with the flow.
Many of us think that Efforts and Luck are mutually exclusive. We turn bitter when we don’t get the expected results, despite putting in all the sweat and blood possible. We turn sour towards people,who we think have it easy in life, who get things laid on a platter, whom we consider “Lucky”.
Focus, hard work, perseverance, determination are the traits that will make you realise that, though nothing usually comes easy, you will in all probability succeed, no matter what, if you imbibe these characters.
Winning is not the end of all. It is the journey that is much more important, that makes you richer with all your experiences and learning.
Luck is just a notion.
So my dear friends, before signing off, I wish to say: Enjoy the journey, play the game called LIFE…and in this game, we lose some, we win some…there are loose ends, there are tight ends…there is luck and then there is some muck…
Remember: Just because you lost, doesn’t mean you didn’t win!!!
So sit tight, brace yourselves and shout out together…Life…Game on!!!
